Three years back, I stumbled upon Heartsmarts, thanks to one of my clients. At that point, I was pondering, “Isn’t there a way to shed those extra pounds without gulping down a ton of supplements?” I’m not a fan of popping pills or downing protein shakes; I prefer keeping it simple with regular food.

Well , the juice started off surprisingly well _ i was shocked that i wasn’t running to the fridge every hour. But now as I’m near the end, I’m dreaming of fried  sweet plantain with some baked turkey wings. No worries i will not succumb to my temptation

So, it’s a brand new year – new resolutions, new dreams, and of course, the same old me trying to shed those extra pounds. This year, I’m swearing to myself that I’ll eat better, run a tighter ship with my business, and just generally stay on the straight and narrow.

On a lazy Saturday, I found myself touching my scalp and realized it was looking a bit thin. Concerned, I recruited my younger son as the unofficial family photographer to capture the barren landscape on my head. To my horror, it looked like my hair had taken a vacation without informing me. Stress, my loyal companion, was probably the culprit, but who has time to deal with that when you’re running a  hair salon?

Just because you have locs, doesn’t mean you don’t wash them! Just like loose hair, ANY hair for that matter, Locs need to be shampooed and conditioned properly to maintain thick and healthy strands! To be honest, when I started my second set of locs, I wanted them to be bigger. My previous locs were smaller, and maintaining them was time-consuming. I aimed for a more manageable style, which is why I chose a larger size. I wanted a hairstyle that allowed me to sit in the chair for a maximum of 30 minutes.
